Gripps Farm sits on the North Yorkshire heritage coast, between Saltburn and Loftus. Purchased in 2022 by entrepreneur Simon “Sid” McAuley, the site was in need of major regeneration before it could open its doors. The vision: bring together great food, local produce, a welcoming café and memorable family experiences in one destination — 130+ animals, a kids’ playpark, a petting barn, walk-through exhibits, an on-site café and a campsite, all built around a genuine sense of community and welcome.
We were brought on to deliver Gripps Farm’s full brand presence ahead of its Summer 2026 opening: the website that would introduce the farm to the world and sell its first tickets, the physical signage that would guide visitors around the site once they arrived, and the social media presence that would build awareness and excitement long before the gates opened.
We built a WordPress/WooCommerce site to carry Gripps Farm from pre-launch through to trading:
Working alongside an active building and regeneration site brought its own constraints — signage needed to be planned and, in places, produced before the physical landscape it would sit in was finished. That meant designing a system flexible enough to survive changes on the ground: shifting car park layouts, phased attraction openings (the Adventure Park being a clear “coming soon” rather than day-one feature), and a farm that would keep evolving after signage was installed.
We delivered:
The core design challenge throughout was sequencing: producing a coherent, brand-consistent signage suite for a site that was still under construction, without the luxury of a finished physical space to design around.
Cornerstone began managing Gripps Farm’s social media on 1 June 2026. With families as the key target audience, the strategy focused on building awareness and excitement ahead of opening, turning a farm still under transformation into a following worth having:
Gripps Farm is now open. Social media activity is live and growing ahead of launch, with the strategy continuing to expand — posting frequency has doubled and short-form video is taking a more central role as opening day approaches. This case study will be updated with further performance data — ticket sales, footfall and on-site visitor feedback — once the farm has been trading for a full season.
